LOVE the new site, Jen! Can’t wait for the release of The Better Mother.

  2. Anne Mountifield says:

Just finished End of East….wow! Thank you. I’m looking forward to reading more of your work, and listening to you and Sheila Rogers talk books.

  3. I also just finished End of East (cheeks still crusty from dried tears) and I’m looking forward to The Better Mother. :-)

  4. Hi, Jen, I’m just about to officially launch my website (it’s already up if you want to look at it). Would you like to exchange links with me?

    All the best,

    Keith

    Hello Jen.
No matter what else you do, please continue writing books. I just finished reading End of East and all I have to say is THANK YOU! What a beautiful, haunting, sad, interesting, and wonderfully written book. I am very grateful to you for writing such a great book.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the nice words, Morganne. I don’t know how my writing life will go, but it really helps me out to hear people like the books that are already out there.

    Jen:
I am an avid reader, and as such friends are always passing books on to me that they think I “MUST” read. Unfortunately, most of them are silly romance paperbacks that I send immediately on their way. However, when I received your book, “The End of East”, I received a true gift. Today I read this lovely story in one sitting. The characters are beautiful and complex, and although the story is of a Chinese family, I found many essences of my Romanian family in between the covers. Thank you for delivering this colorful story of a family who has difficulties so like our own. I plan on immediately findings your additional works and adding them to my extensive book collection. Have a happy holiday season.

Thanks so much, Charity. It always makes me happy to hear that people from other communities find commonalities in The End of East. So much of the immigration story is universal, which really just means that immigration is a human story. Happy holidays!

Hi Jen, just read an article from you about Vancouver in the German “Merian” and liked it very much. Because of that, and because i`m a writer too, i have a question: Is there a plan to translate your novels into german? I`m very interested to read a novel from you.
    Best regards

    • Jen says:

Thanks for the comment! I wish we could publish my books into German, but we’d need a German publisher to express interest first. You don’t happen to be a publisher, do you? Hee. Anyway, I think you can probably get copies of my books in English shipped to you from Amazon or some such retailer in Canada, especially second hand copies. Good luck!

  8. Dear Ms. Lee. I am a Canadian writer and teacher living in SE Asia (have been here, now, for 20 years). I’ve recently written a BC based book (well, BC and SE Asia) and have published it on my own (e-publishing, even the name makes milk curdle). If I sent you an e-copy, would you be willing to read it and write me a line or two regarding the text?

I am dedicated to my craft, but really have no doors open to me, and I believe this is a book that should be read. I think it holds beauty and sadness, two qualities I adore.

    Much thanks and continued success.

    Grant

    • Jen says:

Hi Grant. Congratulations on writing and finishing a novel! No small feat, as you know. As for reading your book, what kind of feedback are you looking for exactly? It’s hard to tell if you need an endorsement or manuscript evaluation. I may not be the best person to do either of these things for you, just so you know. But do tell me what you need first. J
